Print!Eats: La Calabaza

October 4, 2011

After the hottest summer ever recorded in Austin–that’s 90 days of triple digits and 120 days over 90 degrees for those of you keeping track– the slow signs of autumn feel more like a release from captivity than a sorrowful goodbye to summer.

Nothing says fall more than pumpkins; pies, roasted seeds and carved jack-o-lanterns.

Sure, no one around here will be picking pumpkins in cozy sweaters, but crisp blue skies and 85 degrees feels pretty heavenly to me.

Now if it was only cold enough to make soup…

    Nice! I love it!

(I’m drinking hot coffee today instead of my usual cold toddy!)
